Better End Portals Data Pack 1.18.1, 1.17.1 (Portal Rework)

Better End Portals Data Pack 1.18.1, 1.17.1 makes getting to The End a much harder challenge. The End Dimension in Minecraft is supposed to be the final destination of your journey. However, for any veteran player, it is quite easy to get to The End without much trouble. This data pack changes that by adjusting how to unlock The End Portal. To open the portal to The End, you now need to collect 12 custom Ender Eyes. These custom Ender Eyes are placed in various dungeons and structures. So, to get to The End, you need to explore your world thoroughly first. This data pack encourages the player to play the game in a proper manner instead of rushing to The End to find Elytra.

  • The Blazing Eye : Found in Nether Fortresses.
  • The Buried Eye : Found in Buried Treasure chests.
  • The Deserted Eye : Found in Desert Pyramids.
  • The Frozen Eye : Found in the basement of Igloos.
  • The Golem Eye : Found in a Weaponsmith chest from Villages.
  • The Overgrown Eye: Found in Jungle Temples.
  • The Portal Eye : Found in Ruined Portals.
  • The Ruined Eye : Found in Stronghold Libraries.
  • The Sunken Eye : Found in Ocean Ruins.
  • The Magical Eye : Dropped by Evoker.
  • The Prismarine Eye: Dropped by Elder Guardian.
  • The Withered Eye : Dropped by Wither.

How to Install:

Please note that this data pack requires the appropriate resource pack and will not work with out it. Make sure to install that as well!

1. Download the data pack and its resource pack from the link below.
2. Launch Minecraft. At the main menu, choose Options…, then click on Resource Packs…, choose Open Resource Pack Folder. A window will pop out. You should drop the resource pack compressed file you have just downloaded into that folder. Then activate the resource pack by clicking on the triangle button on its thumbnail. (If you don’t see the resource pack, press Done then click on Resource Packs… again.)
3. Go back to the main menu by pressing on Done button twice. Select Singleplayer.
4. Select the world you want to install this data pack, then click on Edit button at the bottom of the screen. Choose Open World Folder. A window will pop out. Open datapacks folder. Now you should drop the data pack compressed file you have just downloaded into that folder.
5. Back to the game, press Save to complete.
6. Enter the world and enjoy. If you didn’t get the installation message, run the command /reload. If you cannot use /reload command, you should create a new world.
